    About Johnson County

What You Should Know About Criminal Defense in Buffalo, WY

Johnson County is a small, tight-knit ranching community in northeastern Wyoming. The courts here move quickly, and the legal community is a small one — judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys all know each other. That familiarity cuts both ways. It means local knowledge matters enormously, and an attorney who regularly appears in these courts has real advantages over one who doesn’t. Buffalo sits along the I-90 corridor between Gillette and Sheridan, and the county sees a significant volume of DUI and drug-related traffic stops on that stretch. Hunting and firearms charges are also common, given the proximity to the Bighorn Mountains and the area’s strong hunting culture.
